distorter: “Psychobaby” (Kid Koala x Lealani)

NEW PROJECT: distorter (KID KOALA and LEALANI)

Envision Records welcomes distorter! Two mischievous characters were found in the depths of an old music and curiosities shop somewhere on the West Coast of the continent. Emerging from the shadows and dusty cut-out bins appeared what we are now calling “distorter”, the real life project of characters Lealani and Kid Koala

The duo joined forces a couple years ago on a track (“Things Are Gonna Change”) on Kid Koala’s album Creatures of the Late Afternoon. After a few instances of performing together in Europe, USA and Canada, it became clear that their chemistry on stage was undeniable.

Their live show is described as turntable, guitar, drum machine mayhem. Now they are going on tour across North America opening up for Deltron 3030 and bringing distorter and party vibes to the masses.

We managed to catch these elusive characters and get them to put some of their mayhem onto tape. The debut single is the rocker “Psychobaby”, a story about parasites and break ups.
